About this policy
Pitch Finder is an iOS and Android app published by Inspector Network LLC. It measures roof pitch and saves readings, stamped images, and Precision Reports on your device.
Your measurements are processed on your phone. We do not automatically receive your readings, photos, location, or property notes. You choose whether to save images to Photos or share files with other apps or services.
Information used on your device
- Motion sensors: The app uses your phone's motion sensors to calculate roof pitch. Captured readings include the measurement and related sensor details.
- Camera and selected photos: The camera is used to sight a roof edge or photograph a house for a Precision Report. You can also choose a house photo through your phone's photo picker. The app receives the photo you select; it does not browse your photo library.
- Location: With your permission, the app uses foreground location to add coordinates and GPS accuracy to a saved reading. You can decline location access and still take measurements. The record indicates when location is unavailable, approximate, or stale.
- Device time: Readings include the time reported by your phone. The app does not verify the time against a server.
- Notes: An optional property or roof-area note is stored with the reading and printed on the saved image.
- Settings: Calibration and permission-setup preferences are stored on your device.
Permissions and your choices
On first launch, Pitch Finder explains its permissions and asks for the access required by your phone. These may include camera, motion, location while using the app, and permission to save images to Photos. You can decline a request and continue with the features that remain available.
You can revisit permissions through Field guide → App permissions and change access in your phone's Settings. The app does not request microphone, contacts, or background-location access.
Storage and sharing
Pitch Finder has no account system, application server, analytics, automatic crash-reporting service, or app-operated cloud sync. We do not sell your measurement information or use it for third-party advertising.
When you save a reading, the app stores it locally and attempts to add its stamped image to Photos. Precision Reports can also be saved to Photos. Your phone's photo-library and backup settings determine whether those files are synchronized or backed up by other services.
When you share an image or export a record, you choose the receiving app or service. Its privacy practices apply to the copy it receives. Saved images can contain coordinates, timestamps, and property notes, so review them before sharing.
The home screen includes links to Inspector Studio and PermitHunt. These open in your browser without passing your measurements, photos, location, or notes in the link. Those websites have their own privacy practices.
Retention and deletion
Saved readings and Precision Reports remain in the app's local storage until removed. Use Records → Delete all records from this phone to remove them. This action does not delete copies already saved to Photos, shared with someone else, exported, or retained in an operating-system backup. Calibration and permission-setup preferences are kept separately.
Removing the app can remove its local data. Export important records before uninstalling the app or changing phones. Inspector Network does not keep a server copy of your measurements and cannot restore them. Device backups and photo-library synchronization follow your phone's settings and the relevant service's policies.
Contacting support
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond to your support request. This correspondence is separate from the records stored in the app. Send only information needed to explain the problem, and check screenshots for property notes and location details first.
